Russian Rushnik 1 - рушник

Rushniks are traditional East Slavic Towels, often decorated with the ornamental pattern. They are used for decoration of the Red Corner (sacred place for icons) in Russian/Ukrainian houses.

I found this wonderful Russian site: РУЧНАЯ ВЫШИВКА - HAND EMBROIDERY. The site has many charted designs for free. Tatyana was sweet enough to give me permission to post them here. I personally own several Russian and Ukrainian Rushnik and treasure each and every one.
